The New Jersey Reentry Corporation released a new report on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, entitled, “REENTRY: From Prison to the Streets, Making it Work.” The report outlines steps to improve the reentry process for persons returning from incarceration, which is imperative to community well-being and cost-efficiency. In attendance were Governor Jim McGreevey, Chairman, NJRC; John Koufos, Executive Director, NJRC; Bishop Manuel Cruz, Archdiocese of Newark; Ruthi Byrne, wife of Governor Brendan Byrne; Governor Jim Florio, Governor Jon Corzine, Governor Donald DiFrancesco; Katie Forkey, Report Author, NJRC; NJRC staff, and former NJRC clients: Edwin Ortiz, Rashida Smith, Rev. Bolivar Flores, and Omari Atiba. Governor Thomas Kean also prepared a statement of support for the event.
