Changes that reduce access increase barriers and weaken community stability. \nWhy Medicaid and SNAP Matter:Medicaid supports access to essential healthcare\, including mental health and substance use treatment. SNAP reduces food insecurity and supports economic stability. Together\, these programs improve health outcomes\, support employment\, and reduce recidivism. \nRisks of Reduced Access:Reduced access to Medicaid and SNAP can lead to increased health risks\, including untreated conditions\, higher emergency room use\, and poorer outcomes. It can also contribute to greater instability through food insecurity and disrupted recovery\, housing\, and employment.
