On April 2, 2026, NJRC hosted our annual conference. This year’s topic was “Trauma and Healing: Brain Science, Human Dignity, and Justice.” It was everything we hoped it would be and more.
We are deeply grateful to Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, author David Brooks, physicians, psychiatrists, program participants, and panelists whose words moved us and will stay with attendees long after.
We are especially thankful to Governor Mikie Sherrill, Speaker Craig Coughlin, Senator Raj Mukherji, Former Governors Tom Kean, Don DiFrancesco, Jon Corzine, and Chris Christie, and U.S. District Court Judges Cox Arleo, Salas, and Quraishi. Their presence made clear that the work of reentry and rehabilitation is ongoing, bipartisan, and transformative.
Since 2014, NJRC has served more than 31,000 individuals returning from incarceration, addiction treatment, and military service, securing over 14,000 jobs and connecting nearly 14,000 people to addiction treatment.
This work is possible because of the leaders, partners, and participants who show up. On April 2, they did exactly that.
