Recertification as Pro Bono Provider 2025

The New Jersey Reentry Corporation is pleased to announce that we have been recertified as a certified pro bono provider under New Jersey Court Rule 1:21-11. The New Jersey Judiciary has officially processed and accepted NJRC’s renewal certification, allowing us to remain on the list of certified pro bono entities maintained by the Administrative Office of the Courts. This recognition reflects our continued commitment to providing critical legal support and services to those navigating reentry and the justice system.
Renewal of our certification ensures that NJRC maintains its standing and ability to provide these essential legal services to those we serve at no cost to our participants. NJRC offers the following:
- Expungement Assistance: NJRC helps eligible individuals navigate the process of expunging their criminal records, improving access to employment, housing, and other opportunities.
- Restoration of Identification Documents: Our Legal Service Coordinators assist clients in obtaining essential identification documents, such as birth certificates, driver's licenses, and Social Security cards, which are crucial for accessing federal, state, and local benefits and employment opportunities.
- Court Fine and Bail Dismissal Support: NJRC provides guidance and support in addressing outstanding court fines and bail issues, helping to alleviate financial burdens that can impede reentry. In 2024, the total combined amount of fines and bail fees dismissed exceeded $1.9 million.
- Veteran-Specific Legal Aid: Through partnerships with organizations such as the National Veterans Legal Services Program, NJRC helps veterans upgrade their less-than-honorable discharges and access benefits.
NJRC remains deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve and for the continued support of our legal partners, volunteers, and community stakeholders. Pro bono work is vital to the operation of our justice system, and we are proud to be part of that mission.
Best, fondly,
Jim McGreevey
